After some time. Discoveries. pt. 1

I know I haven't done much around here for quite some time (busy busy with studies and real projects), but tht doesn't mean I wasn't looking around searching for inspirational arty things. To catch up I will post all my discoveries (well, most of them, it's impossible to show everything beautiful I saw during these days).

By the way, to track me quicker, just follow me on Pinterest (there's a follow button on the up- right side too). I've started using it more few days ago. Bit afraid of possible problems because of Terms and Conditions that even The Window Seat wrote about, but will try my luck :)

So, for a start stop motion animation by Alexandre Dubosc. When you are thinking about upcoming birthday, makes you smile even more.

DIY: Fabric bracelets

Bracelets are one of my favorite accessory. They are simple, usually harder to loose than necklaces or ear-rings, can be very different and both stylish and not too fancy. It's even better, when you can make them by your self. And even more better, when you can call it a upcycling project!

Yet another paper magic...

Ok, so as always, during my daily check of favorites, I've discovered another amazing artist, who is making mechanical paper projects. His name is Rob Ives. He is a former primary school match and science teacher, self taught in mechanical from UK.

Breathing Bags (One Hundred and Eight Installation)

Tweeted by Milk design.

A simple, moving, hypnotizing installation by Nils Voelker.

I wonder if anybody has made lungs, working this way? Maybe I should try it.

Catch Kony 2012

One of the greatest things about social medias is the possibility to spread the information and raise the awareness of things happening in the world. This is one of the examples:

81 things you can compost!

As a permaculture/green living fan, I couldn't ignore Networx post about composting things. Since it is not a hobby for only extreme gardeners, but also a great way to cut back landfill supplies and improve the ground of plants at home, everyone could start composting the following 81 crazy pieces of waste:
1. Dryer lint
2. “Dust bunnies”
3. The insides of a vacuum bag (just empty the bag into the compost bin)
4. The contents of your dustpan (just use discretion)
5. Coffee grounds
6. Coffee filters
7. Tea bags/loose leaf tea
9. Soy/rice/almond/etc milk
9. Nut shells (but not walnut, which may be toxic to plants)
  1. 10.  Pumpkin/sunflower/sesame seeds (chop them to ensure they won’t grow)
